Welcome to a new version

I don't know when I last updated amix.dk - Well, I could know it if I wanted to, but I really don't. Anyway, I think it is over 1 or 2 year(s) ago! *amix.dk is back, alive and kicking!*

Now, as you see I have moved away from the ASCII look (if someone remembers that). I have just made a simple design that matches my current mood. Well, actually I made this current design 3 or 4 months ago. The reason why amix.dk haven't got updated? Well, I really don't know - I haven't had the motivation to do it and I was busy doing other things. But don't worry, I have been doing computer related stuff :o) - It's not like I dumped the computer stuff so I could get a life.

I have done lots of computer related jobs. I have also worked on some pretty exciting projects. And of course, I have learned a lot in the past year(s). To sum up I have worked with following things:

  • Weather site for a
    large danish newspaper (BT Vejret)
  • Creating XML and processing XML. I have learned how XML documents are built and different ways of parsing them. Built a "very popular" DMOZ parser.
  • Different consulting jobs. I.e. I have helped a bunch of people/firms/organizations on different programming tasks.
  • Worked on a dHTML editor. I.e. an WYSIWYG editor for the web. It never got finished, but I coded a lot of JavaScript and hacked in DOM.
  • Coolector.com - It never got finished, but I really plan to finish this project some day! Its a great project.

Now I have also made some pretty big changes:

  • Switched from PHP to Python - This new website is coded in Python with support from mod_python. The main reason: Python simply kicks the cows ass.
  • Switched from PC to Mac - and of course from Windows to Mac OS X. The main reason: I wanted a change and I wanted a powerful Unix based O/S that had the right tools and was userfriendly.
  • Found the best editor around - you know the name: VIM! I had searched for a good editor and finally after many years of searching I have found it. You should really give this editor a try - it's simply amazing!

Oh, I am now finished with high school and I have started at Aarhus University where I study computer science (woohoo).

What can you expect from this website? My main focus will be my projects and my work at the University. For some months ago I stopped working for others and I should have really lots of time to go into deep with my own projects - - I got lots of nice ideas. The under-site "cs at aarhus uni." will be used to post my rapports, notes and assignments - I like to share with other people and I usually make something unique when my (home)work can be seen by others. Now and then I will be posting on different subjects.

All I can say is: *Stay tuned!* You will probably like the new amix.dk ;-)
