Stepping down as Plurk's lead developer

3 years ago, while still attending university, I started working on Plurk. I had no idea what it would lead to and I had no idea it would be so successful. For me, it was a way to learn more about social networks, complex projects, about viral marketing and about startups.

Fast forward to today and Plurk is one of the top 1000 sites in the world. We have millions of users, billions of data items, got copied by Microsoft and are big in areas of the world that I knew very little about. Building Plurk has been an amazing experience, I have learned so much and I think starting Plurk has been one of the best decisions I have made.

But being entrepreneur at heart I feel a burning itch to do something else. For this reason I have decided to step down as a lead developer of Plurk and go into a role of advisor.

I will still stay close to Plurk and I am certain that Plurk's talented team will keep pushing Plurk forward and making it even more awesome.
