_why's way of living

why's addiction

I have been a fan of _why for a long time. He is and was an inspiration. The thing I liked most about _why is that his agenda was not to make money, create something big or boost his ego - like most peoples agenda is. He did things because they were fun to do and he jumped from project to project doing lovely things - with no strings attached! There was a sense of freedom and creativity one sensed in _why and this freedom is not seen in many other people.

Looking around the world one can see a of drones trying to create a career, trying to boost their status, their name or their products. _why is anti these people and he sums this up on a tweet about DDH:

trying to reading dhh’s articles on himself, but his website is so drenched in axe body spray that it has more of a tear gas effect.

_why is no longer with us and I am not that surprised. Why? Because _why did not have any attachments. He was a free bird doing things because they were fun to do. Jonh Resig's Eulogy to _why is a good read, I especially like the reference to the sand mandalas and I think his description matches well the way _why was attached to his work.

What can be learn from _why? A lot of things, but I think the most notable thing to learn is not to get too attached to ones ego or ones work - i.e. don't let your work or ego define you and control you.

Personally, I will remember _why and remember to not get too attached to my ego or my work - _why spice my life!

Live in Joy, In love,
Even among those who hate.

Live in joy, In health,
Even among the afflicted.

Live in joy, In peace,
Even among the troubled.

Look within. Be still.
Free from fear and attachment,
Know the sweet joy of living in the way.

Nice writeup :)
But "_why is no longer with us" seams to strong to say. He just went offline. Most of his work is still around ( poignant is live here http://mislav.uniqpath.com/poi... ). And probably some day he be back :)
