Staying focused

I have many ideas for Todoist, but this one was becoming a high priority, something I thought a lot about. The idea was collaboration between people. I had brainstormed the implementation and was ready to start developing it. Implementing proper collaboration is a really hard problem, I would use at least one month on it.

But then it hit me:

• Collaboration has nothing to do with Todoist!

If I had chosen to implement collaboration, I would move my focus in another direction, I would move Todoist in another direction, I would start solving something that isn't a problem for me. Todoist will eventually try to be too many things at once. It would suck.

What's Todoist about? Personal organization. That's the task at hand and that is my focus.

Look on Google search engine, look on Gmail, look on del.icio.us, look on Basecamp, etc.:

• They're all about focus.
