Nested lists in Todoist

Posted on 8. Jan 2007 · Comments [5]
Implementing nested lists isn't trivial, that's the reason why the other competitors don't have them.

I find them essential and that's why Todoist has them.

A little sneak-peak:

Todoist Nested Lists small

The main problem with nested lists isn't the programming, but interface design. They can make the interface a lot more complex. As you see from the screenshot the interface has stayed simple and it's very speedy to create nested lists.

Good design should be: Simple, powerful, fast and easy to use.

Hey Amir, check out a litle demo: http://eff-bee-eye.de/activesc...
(works in Firefox)

use the mouse wheel to move :)

Very nice and creative :)

Why does it only work in Firefox?

I'm not familiar with the syntax needed to make it IE-compatible. The scrolling works in IE if I remove the mouse action and only use links. Time to dig up some references. :)

This [ http://www.devpro.it/javascrip... ] works on IE and FireFox.

@RStankov: thanks for the example! I actually found another
way to make it work in IE, it had something to do with absolute positioning in the CSS.

Now on to replicate the Mac OS X interface..... ;)
