Don't redo it!?

Todoist got posted on Lifehacker - yay! Anyway, this post is more general than that. The post had following text:

"I put off reviewing Todoist because task management webapps have become as common and similar as geeks at a Star Trek convention; but I was pleasantly surprised by its usability and features."

This "already created" mentality is shared among a lot of people. But here is the thing: Sure, a lot of people have tried to create something, but that does not mean that they got it right. One can always improve something...

For example, Google should have stopped improving search or email, because you know, search and email are problems that have been solved a lot of times. Same goes with iPod, which was doomed to failure by Slashdot...

My point is that better solutions can always be found. When you create something don't be afraid to solve problems that seem to be solved. Especially if you have better ideas than the others!
